CE Class Info
NAPD offers quality continuing education for renewing your Maryland Real Estate License. Our Instructors are approved by the MD Real Estate Commission and the Maryland Higher Education. We take great pride in providing the most informative and most current classes in a comfortable environment. All classes are approved and conducted according to state laws and regulations. Please take a moment to review the following important information regarding CE License Renewal requirements.

Maryland Real Estate Commission Education Requirements
For License Expirations between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2013

RESIDENTIAL                                                                                              

» Residential Brokers, Branch Office Managers & Team Leaders - 15 Total Credit Hours

Must include the following:
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Residential” – Category (H) (Every 4 years)

3 Credits - “MREC Required Supervision” - Category (I) (Every 4 years)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A)
1.5 (min.) Credits - “Fair Housing” – Category (C)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
1.5 Credits – Electives (No duplicates)
» All Other Residential Associate Brokers and Salespersons - 15 Total Credit Hours
MUST include the following:
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Residential” – Category (H) (Every 4 years)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A)
1.5 Credits - “Fair Housing” – Category (C)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
4.5 Credits – Electives (No duplicates)
IF YOU HAVE A GRADUATE DEGREE IN “LAW” OR “REAL ESTATE”:

Residential Brokers, Office Managers & Team Leaders MUST complete the following (13.5 Credits):
(No electives necessary)
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Residential” – Category (H) (Every 4 years)
3 Credits - “MREC Required Supervision” - Category (I) (Every 4 years)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A)
1.5 (min.) Credits - “Fair Housing” – Category (C)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
Associate Brokers and Salespersons MUST complete the following (7.5 Credits):
(No electives are necessary).
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Residential” – Category (H) (for 2012 & 2013 renewals)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A) (for 2014 & 2015 renewals)
1.5 Credits - “Fair Housing” – Category (C)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
Important Note: “MD Code of Ethics” must include the topics of Ethics, Flipping & Predatory Lending.


COMMERCIAL (Solely Commercial – No Residential Business)                       

» Commercial Brokers, Branch Office Managers & Team Leaders – 15 Total Credit Hours
MUST include the following:
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Commercial” – Category (H) (Every 4 years)
3 Credits - “MREC Required Supervision” - Category (I) (Every 4 years)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
3 Credits – Electives (no duplicates)
» All Other Commercial Associate Brokers and Salespersons - 15 Total Credit Hours
MUST include the following:
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Residential” – Category (H)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
6 Credits – Electives (no duplicates)
IF YOU HAVE A GRADUATE DEGREE IN “LAW” OR “REAL ESTATE”:

Commercial Brokers, Office Managers & Team Leaders MUST complete the following: (13.5 Credits):
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Residential” – Category (H)
3 Credits - “MREC Required Supervision” - Category (I)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
1.5 Credits – Electives (no duplicates)
Associate Brokers and Salespersons MUST complete the following (7.5 Credits):
3 Credits - “MREC Agency- Commercial” – Category (H) (for 2012 & 2013 renewals)
3 Credits - “Legislative” - Category (A)
3 Credits - “MD Code of Ethics” – Category (D)
1.5 Credits – Electives (no duplicates)
Important Note: “MD Code of Ethics” must include the topics of Ethics, Flipping & Predatory Lending.

CE CREDIT RECIPROCITY INFORMATION:                                                      

Are you also licensed in VA, WV or PA? You may use your MD CE Credits for renewing those licenses as follows:

VA - Will accept up to 8 hours of MD CE Credits if applied only to the VA “Real Estate Related” continuing education category per the Virginia Real Estate Commission.  You must submit an original or notarized copy of your certificates.

WV - Will accept up to 7 hours of ANY MD CE Credits per the West Virginia Real Estate Commission.

PA - Will accept MD CE Credits for a PA Reciprocal license ONLY, per the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission. You must have original certificates for renewing your PA license. 

NAPD highly recommends that all information should be confirmed by the appropriate State Real Estate Commission. If you have any questions regarding your license renewal, please call your State Real Estate Commission.
